Monochromatic colours are all the colours of a single hue. You can pick shades of two different colours that contrast with each other. One can play a lot around monochromatic colours.

One can also choose three shades of monochrome. Choose a dark, medium, and light version of your chosen colour.
Complementary colours:
Complementary colours are a pair of colours when combined produces a grayscale colour. The darker shade dominates the room while lighter shade used as an accent. You can also pick more than two colours that are similar in hues.
Paint it in hues:
Pick up any three colours from the palette with similar hues.
Colour significance:
There are warm and cool colours. Warm colours namely, orange, yellow or red gives off a warm feeling. Thus they are best suited for active rooms such as the living room. Cool colours namely, blue, green, purple gives off a soothing feeling. Thus they are best suited for bedrooms.
Whichever colour theme you choose, remember it has your personal touch. A home is, after all, a place where memories are created.
